The question that many people seem to have is one that has been asked for years. Many answer it with a simple “no” but that’s not always the case. With everything that is going on in the world, prices raising, many Millennials barely being able to afford basic rent for an apartment, and other problems, the phrase “money can’t buy you happiness” seems to be becoming less and less true. It’s mainly because without money, you’re not able to buy necessities to live which could make one feel desperate and hopeless.

Money, in some ways and perspectives, is in fact able to buy you happiness. For example, buying a gift for a friend or relative that is sure to put a smile on their face. Though it’s only temporary, it can still create happiness within the person, or between the both of them. And for those who celebrate Christmas, it can show how much one cares for the other, even if a gift is small.

Though, it is understandable if one says that money can’t buy you happiness in the thought that it can also cause greed. Happiness can also be acquired through spending time with loved ones, committing acts of kindness, and other things of the likes. All of these things seem to be more valuable than money.

Depending on someone’s view of things, money can actually buy you happiness although it may not be able to compare to bonding and spending time with others. Money can only get you so far in life and is only material while love and kindness can stick with you, creating memories that money could never buy. That’s why it’s important to spend all the time you can cherishing moments with others.
