Auburn Riverside girls varsity basketball team has had a very good season this year. Winning more than half of their games this year, these girls have been playing phenomenally for the first half of the season. One athlete in particular, Carol Chikusa, has really stood out this season.

Chikusa scored 25 points in the game against Thomas Jefferson and helped bring the score of the game up to a close 57-58. Chikusa has made a very big difference on the team this season and has helped push them over the edge.

“Carol effects the game at both ends of the floor”, said coach Christian Miller. “Often she guards the other team’s best player”.

Many people recognize that Chikusa is an amazing player on the court but she is also very talented off the court as well. She takes lots of higher level classes and excels in all of them.

“Off the court she is a very hardworking student and a great friend and teammate and a very talented singer”, said coach Miller.

Chikusa brings a lot to the girls varsity basketball team and adds a level of professionalism and skill to the team. Even if you aren’t playing with her you can see that Chikusa brings something special to the court. Even during practice her determination and dedication to success shines through.

“Carol brings a focus and tenacity to each practice and game”, said coach Miller.
